Lomiga Lua: i Luga ‘o le Moana ... Fa’amanatuina ‘o le Gagana

    Tuesday 30 May 6–9pm we are excited to be screening works as part of ‘Lomiga Lua: i Luga ‘o le Moana ... Fa'amanatuina ‘o le Gagana’.

    It will be a one night only event to celebrate Vaiaso ‘o le Gagana Sāmoa (Sāmoan Language Week) for Sāmoan and other Oceania and First Nations Peoples, as well as friends and family. The event is presented by Leitu Bonnici through her practice Le Phem Era, in collaboration with Peter Lemalu.

    Included will be moving image works by Sāmoan artists based in Naarm and beyond, curated by Leitu Bonnici. The video works will be shown via projection in the Collingwood Yards courtyard and screening at Composite featuring the artists:

    ‘Lomiga Lua: i Luga ‘o le Moana ... Fa'amanatuina ‘o le Gagana’, translating to ‘Issue Two: Over the Ocean/Blue … Language Celebration’, is presented by Le Phem Era, in collaboration with Peter Lemalu with support from West Space, Centre for Projection Art, The Social Studio, Hope Street Radio, Composite Moving Image and Collingwood Yards.
