For the 8th iteration of Release Cycle, we are excited to present a screening of Vidya Rajan’s moving image works.

Vidya Rajan is a multi-disciplinary artist working across performance, writing for screen and stage, comedy, and haunting the internet. Moving image intersects with her practice as part of the whole, culminating in surreal fictions, playful abstractions of body and speech, and DIY online culture. A former writer-in-residence at the Malthouse and recipient of the Experimental Art Award at Melbourne Fringe, Vidya is a 2023 Australia Council Digital Fellow, as part of which she is investigating interactive performance (irl & url) and its aesthetics, and the way video art as it emerges in these settings.
